I really like this steam basket. Besides the lovely shades of green, it fits nicely into various pans. The handle is sturdy and makes it easy to remove piping hot items. I steam vegetables and whole sweet potatoes in it. The only complaint is I sometimes miss a string bean when cleaning as it blends into the color of the basket. However, that could be a result of declining eye sight and hand washing. It is dishwasher safe so that is a better cleaning method. I highly recommend this item.

I was searching for a steamer that was an alternative to metal ones because I don't do well cooking with metal. I researched a lot of steamers and came across an article mentioning this steamer was BPA free and highly recommended. So, I bought it. Several weeks in, I started feeling ill after eating dinner. I didn't know why. I steam vegetables every night. I finally went to my doctor who is holistic in nature, and he was able to detect plastic in my system. I couldn't understand how this could be since I am so careful about using BPA free products. In fact, the only plastic product that I use is that steamer and as soon as I figured out the connection, I stopped using the steamer and stopped getting ill. The marketing for this product declares that it is BPA free but I can assure you that once heated (and I didn't use excessive heat and it didn't melt or chip), that this plastic steamer is not BPA free. My body is the proof and the body doesn't lie. Do not purchase this if you are looking for a BPA free product!!!!
