   This item arrived on time, intact and works well, sturdy enough. We treated it gently as a scope should be. Many different colorful images. I ask people to try and repeat the same colorful image twice and they cannot. The images are like snowflakes. The images can be used as a tool for meditation, similar to Mandala. I use Kaleidoscopes to encourage relaxation in people who normally need drugs or alcohol to relax and feel safe. It takes conversations away from feelings of hopelessness back to problem solving and hope, back to discussions of how peaceful life still can be if we allow it, how joyful it still can be right now, how relaxed and adventurous. Some people like to add head phones and favorite music. Even nervous people sit in nature and feel calm and clear thinking again. I can see their breathing and body relax. The mental break, the mental reset they needed. They're finally giving themselves personal one on one self time. Afterwards people say they feel like their batteries are charged again, ready to take on problems of the world again (all without drugs or alcohol). Kaleidoscopes are like Harry Potter's different wands, due to the different color/pattern differences, each Kaleidoscope takes you on a different adventure, if you allow it. Where will you allow your imagination take you? It can be your personal spontaneous Mandala offering you your own inner personal guidance and advice for the day. Friends have given me expensive Kaleidoscopes and I'm grateful but the expensive ones are just different but not any better. Let the adventure begin, enjoy.

   My mom had me order this for my sons 2nd birthday. Hes a bit young for it, but his older sister (4) enjoys it. I feel for the price it isn't too bad, but I feel that its a bit "cheap" on the material and feel it won't be around for his 3rd birthday. It awesome that they are still being made, my mom remembers them from her childhood and my dad had a really nice one from my childhood, I just wish it felt a little sturdier.

   In the modern world of iPads and video games, I opted to make this kaleidoscope a Santa gift this Christmas so he could take the blame if it was a flop. Surprisingly, and happily, my 5-year-old truly loved this. She was wowed by the shifting patterns and colors. For her, it was like magic. She even said it was her favorite gift (and my sister got her a powerwheels Range Rover). I highly recommend this toy; it’s an oldie but still very much a goodie.
