I was hesitant to get these balloons due to the reviews. Honestly, ignore them, it sounds like most didn’t follow the directions. They can get to 18”, just fill them up slowly with pauses (they will send you the video after your purchase). If you don’t blow them up big enough, there won’t be enough helium to overcome the gravity/weight with the led lights attached - they need to be filled up enough or they won’t work. Simple science, but if it is not filled up enough they will barely float and even distort a bit to make it look like they are deflating. I actually feel bad for those that decided against buying these because of the reviews, they were a huge hit! Every single balloon and battery pack worked. The party was Saturday afternoon and it is Tuesday now and they are all still up on the ceiling. If you want long strings only wrap the LED lights over the balloon once - still looks cool.

If you want to wrap the lights twice, the balloon will be very short so you might want to get longer string lights but these were a perfect height for a one time wrap around the balloon!
