The measurement must be taken around the chest. Your cat’s harness will need to be snug so that he can’t get out. When taking your measurement, make sure you measure exactly by tightening the tape measure around the cat.

I purchased this harness so my indoor cat get go outside with me safely and get some exercise and fresh air. He was in in between sizes when I measured him, I choose the smaller size which fit but was snug. I contacted the company and they provided amazing customer service and sent me the next size up free of charge and let me keep the first one! A+++ in my book! I would and have recommend to any cat owner. My cat isn’t the biggest of fans but we continue to train in hopes one day he will get used to it and we can actually leave the yard. He did get spooked and jumped into the air and came out of the bigger harness but he didn’t get hurt that is the most important thing. He probably wouldn’t have gotten out the smaller one. This is definitely a learning process and takes practice but this is a great product and company to work with!

The reflective strip is awesome! My little princess is into everything, and I do mean everything so it helped in locating her because her coloring blended in with everything and it was great when walking at night. She would get out of other harnesses but stayed in this one and putting it on/off was a breeze. The material gives but does not loosen to where my little Houdini could escape and I’m assuming kept comfortable because she never complained when she had it on. She is all go. The Velcro worked fine and was nice in adjusting as she grew. Nice price and comes with a matching leash.

This harness was easy to put on our feral kitten. My daughter traps feral cats & has them fixed & vaccinated. We release them afterwards. We had a feral kitten that we could not release due to needing 10 days of eye antibiotics for an infection. We were concerned about taking the kitten outside due to it not trusting us yet & it was really wild. We knew we had to start getting her out of the cage & outdoors more, but we were concerned for her safety. She is pretty wild, but we manage to get the harness on her a lot easier since the buckle & velcro are on the back. This harness actually calms her down some & makes her more manageable. She is just about to outgrow the extra small, so we are ordering the next size up since she has decided she’s going to live here.

Normally im not the type of pet owner that puts there cat on a leash but she is curious of the outdoors and When she got away to our neighbour's yard are two-year-old screamed bloody murder and so attached to her so it's time to get her used to being walked outside and hopefully staying on the patio. So far she has not gone outside again since that day. She only weighs 7lbs and the XS was to small lol
