   So far I have bought 7 of these knife sharpeners. One for myself, and the other 6 were gifts for friends and family. I have never used a better knife sharpener. It is so easy to use it takes me no time at all to get a great edge on all of my knifes. Over the years the price has gone up significantly, but it is still a good value.

   I was tired of the manual knife sharpeners that would do a half job and hence decided to buy the electric knife sharpener. This hasnt disappointed me one bit. Been using for over a couple of months and it does a good job of sharpeneing the knife with limited effort. Its easy to use and makes my life at the kitchen so smooth

   Bought this electric knife sharpener because my boyfriend and I bought a house just over a year ago. Got a cheap set of kitchen knives from Amazon that were all dull after one or two uses. The set has the sharpening stick thing (forget its proper name), and it would help for four or five cuts, and the knives dulled again. Bought this a couple months ago, and sharpened all the knives (except the bread knife - no idea what that would do to the knife, but I use it so infrequently that it doesn't really matter to me...). Since the first sharpening when I received the sharpener, I pulled it out to use for the second time tonight for one knife mostly because I was being picky. The sharpener is SO easy to use and it helped turn my cheap set of crappy knives into an actual set of functional knives that don't dull after 4 or 5 cuts. Extremely pleased with the product!

   I have some decent Wustho knives that are going on 10 years old now, and despite hand sharpening they have visible knicks and have not been sharp for quite some time.. I've tried various hand sharpening methods with little success, and was ready to shell out for professional sharpening at a local shop. Before I did that though, I did a quick search to see if perhaps there were some home sharpeners that sounded like they might be worth a shot and would perhaps be more cost effective in the long run. The Presto quickly rose to the top and with so many overwhelmingly positive reviews it seemed like a pretty safe bet.

   We bought two of these in 2007. We love to cook. Keeping our knives razor sharp is a necessity if not (I admit it.) a fetish for us. Before we bought these Prestos, we owned other brands of electric and hand knife sharpeners. We found this Preso to be by far the best. This Presto is designed so that it is easy to draw the knife through the slots where the grinding wheels are located. Contrary to other reviews, we have found the sequence--1, 2, 3, and 4--to sharpen and hone to be just right. Before writing this review, we looked at the grinding wheels with a magnifying glass and saw so very tiny wear. We agree with the other reviews that this Presto will last for 10 years or more. IMPORTANT TIP: DON'T APPLY PRESSURE AND SWIPE IN A CONSTANT MOTION SO THAT THE BLADES ARE ON THE WHEELS THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. If needed, repeat the swiping and sharpening. Happy cooking!

   I read a lot of reviews before I purchase this. The only complaint I saw was that it could damage your knives...chip away at the blade. I think that's because people applied too much pressure. I was about to buy a new knife set. Then I thought maybe I should sharpen these knives and save some money. Even though I initially thought this was expensive It's been great! My knives are sharp again maybe sharper than they were when I bought them.

   I was hesitate to order this lower priced knife sharpener. I was beyond happy that I did. There were so many to choose from, anywhere from 2-3x the price. This Presto worked beyond expectations and was well worth the price. The knives worked better than new for cutting into steaks this past Sunday. Please keep in mind that this knife sharpener is only for straight blades, it does not work with serrated knives, I personally didn’t need one that did serrated blades. Thanks again for pulling through Amazon!
