   I've only used it once so far, to pour pancake batter onto a pan, it worked great. Easy to use and I had a lot less pancake batter dripping all over the counter and range, as compared to my old fashioned "spoon" method. Kids enjoyed watching me use it, swiftly dropping nice neat circles of batter onto the pan. I can see that the device is a bit delicate, not something to let the kid's play with in their home making center, but very functional and easy to clean. I recommend hand washing rather than using the dishwasher.

   I work full time and also have two young children. This has actually come in really handy for making breakfast for my 3-year-old on weekdays before we all leave. I just make the batter the night before, and put it in the fridge. In the morning, I make her a few pancakes and then leave the batter for the next day - I don't have to spend the 20 minutes or however long making the entire batch. I can do the same for homemade waffles. Another bonus is that I can just mix the batter right in the dispenser, so I dirty way less dishes. This is fairly easy to clean as well. I had originally thought this might be a silly purchase, but I'm glad I got it. It's nice to make my daughter fresh, hot pancakes in the morning. I think it would also work well for cupcakes.

   This is a kitchen MUST have if you make ANYTHING with batter. It works great for pancakes, waffles and cupcakes. One of the things I love most is that the seal is so good on it, I can make pancake/waffle batter the night before, leave it in the fridge and make the kids fresh pancakes or waffles even on hectic school mornings and they love it! My 6 year old loves to help make our recipe for pancakes and then help squeeze out the correct amount onto the pan. We mix it in a bowl first and pour it in. The only negative is that when it comes out of the dishwasher, it needs to be dried with a paper towel under the bottom and it can be hard to get all the way up to the top of the bottom (it'll make sense once you have one!). We've tried batter dispensers before that you squeeze and have had the entire top come off. With this one, you squeeze the handle, so you'll never run into that type of problem.

   Mine doesn't leak, the hole is small enough though that chocolate chunk and chip cookies and brownies clog up, my riccotta pancakes are really slow going, and blueberry pancakes are a no-go. But I haven't found one with a larger opening so this is what I'll use til I can find one. A lot less mess and clean up.

   I make a lot of cupcakes for parties. This batter dispenser makes the task easy. When I have tried putting the batter in the cupcake liner with spoons and spatulas I always had to clean up batter spills. Also I ended up having batter all over my hands. I find the large opening on the dispenser makes it easy to pour in my batter from the mixing bowl into it. After filing the dispenser, I simply hold it over my cupcake tin/liner and hold the lever on the handle. When most of the batter has gone thru the dispenser, I just scrap down the inside of the dispenser pushing the batter down to the dispenser hole. This works with most cake mixes, however if the batter is too thick the batter will not go thru the dispenser well. I would not recommend mixing fruit or chocolate chips into the batter, as it may clog up the release valve. I have also used this for pancakes and again find it easy to use. I can easily make all the pancakes the same size, and I don't have batter drips on the grill to clean up.

   I've been using this dispenser for 4 years...and just purchased a second one. Before I bought the first one, I'd seen the unflattering reviews. That made me more careful with the one I bought. I mix batter in a mixing bowl, as before. Then I simply pour the batter into this dispenser. It works beautifully. I hand wash separately right after, although you can use the dishwasher. Perfect pancakes. Easy cupcakes. And the top can double as a catch all for any drips from the bottom between batter drops...or you can use a saucer or large spoon rest. I highly recommend.
