The one we just purchased is far superior (functionally). It was not difficult to set, the projection (on our ceiling) it is sharp, clear, and is not disturbingly bright. The brightness is absolutely perfect. Though we just recently purchased it, this clock appears to be "solid." I anticipate it lasting longer than our old one. I will buy additional units for our grandchildren in college.

I came across this one with its large blue on black display and the bed shaker sounded like a useful feature for him since he always sleeps through his alarm.
