This may look like an ordinary wooden box on the outside but lift the cover to discover that is is an elegant wooden lunch box or Bento box. With neat compartments to hold various foods, it is also known as a sushi box but you don’t have to serve sushi in it.
Use it as a wooden salad bowl thanks to the removable inner wooden lattice or for healthy lunches for yourself and other family members. It also has a handle for easy transportation.

The bento is made of wood, with two compartments that can fit a traditional Japanese bento lunch, but it may be a bit small for western diets. This is NOT leakproof. The compartments have some depth to them. The bottom compartment does not have a lid, the top piece is notched to fit into place. The bento had a wooden smell that went away after a wash with warm soapy water. The divider does not fit snugly in the compartments, but it is suitable to keep ingredients apart as long as there is no sauce or liquid. It is more a special occasion bento instead of an everyday lunchbox. It is a very pretty piece. I am pleased with my purchase. Edit: a wooden fork and spoon were also included. Very nice and polished utensils. They are too pretty for me to want to use.
