The Solar Bird Bath Fountain runs by using solar panels on the top of the base, this means no maintenance, set up, plugs, or work is required. The fountain does need full sun exposure and a little bit of time to start performing.

It does what is says. Comes with different heads. It did empty the birdbath might need to try a different head so the fountain is lower. Like others I did use rocks to keep it centered in birdbath. This is a day two review so can't speak for longevity but the card says they warranty it for 12 months. Seems like a decent quality especially considering the price point $13. I do believe that it only runs while in sunlight, not like solar lights, does not charge just runs during the day while in sunlight

When they say full sun they are serious. If there's a shadow over even a portion of the disc the pump will drop to intermittent spurts or stop completely until the entire surface of the disc is getting direct sunlight. Cloudy doesn't cut it; it has to be full-on blazing sunshine. I have mine in a ~7" deep bowl and if the water level is low, the lip of the bowl will cast enough of a shadow to stop the pump. So I keep the bowl full or nearly so which isn't hard to do and the disc floats on top and so keeps happily squirting away for most of the day. The included attachments make it work as a fountain or a bubbler/water agitator. I've looked at solar-powered birdbaths/critter waterers for a couple of years now and there was always a downside. Here there's no external solar panel, no connection to a water source, no electrical connection. If it dies after a season or two it won't break the bank to get a new one. Installation can't be simpler...find the vessel you want to turn into a mini-fountain, drop in this ~7" disc and you are done.

I have purchased 2 solar fountains, from a shopping channel and neither one worked for more than 2yrs. Both were in excess of $100, a total waste of money. This little solar fountain works perfectly. I don't use the adapters, as the spray shoots the water out of my fountain and I have to keep re-filling it. No biggie, I just put it in as in and it works as a sort of bubbler. I really love it!!

Took a few days before it settled down and ran with no problems, but has been great since. At first, it was making some funny noises and the pump seemed to be struggling. I had to take it out of the water and reposition it several times, holding it tightly to the bottom of the birdbath. The fountain spray that came on it shoots the water up about a foot, and it kept emptying the birdbath. Once I unscrewed the spray attachment, I got a nice low fat bubbler of water, which is exactly what I wanted. I've only had this for a week, but at this point am extremely happy with it. It comes on with no problem whenever the sun is full on it.

What I like about this product is that you don't need a bird bath you can just recycle a litter box and it works. It has a nice . I can't comment on the longevity but the minute I put it outside and it saw light it was ready to work. What an inexpensive way to have a bird bath! If this last me two years at the price I paid I'll be extremely happy. Extremely easy to put together in a few varieties of spouts to choose from. It looks extremely easy to clean as well. The less parts the less there is for something to go wrong.

Wow! This fountain pump works immediately in the sunshine - no need to charge the battery! The pump started working the minute I took it outside! Placed it in my shallow bird bath that was partially shaded and the water shot up about 4-6 inches. It does float around the bird bath, which I thought would be fine. However, once the sun hit the pump, the water started shooting up over 12 inches! It floated to the edge of the bird bath and shot water onto the ground. Eventually, the floating pump became stuck on the side of the bath from the water evaporating and/or shooting up and out of the bird bath. I ended up with no water left! The instructions recommend using rocks to wedge the pump to keep it from floating around. I tried that next and it seemed to work well. However, I may need to relocate the bath to an area that gets less direct sun. My other option might be to use it in a deeper vessel as a fountain.

I am very pleased with this product. So pleased, in fact, that I ordered another one. And then a third. I am thinking of buying still another one. Why? They are inexpensive, easy to use, and work well. I am experienced with solar fountains and pumps, so I knew what to do: if this is your first solar product, I recommend you read the instructions carefully. They are very clear. I put the solar pump in a bird bath and birds were immediately attracted to the fountain spray. So, I am very pleased with this purchase. Here is one warning, and it is not about the product but about the nature of all fountains: when the water sprays up, sometimes (especially on a windy day) the water will spray out of the bird bath and leave the pump running dry. Then, it will break. I recommend just using the cup without a cover with holes on it (all of these are included in the purchase) to just make a bubbler if you are not at home to make sure the fountain does not run dry.

I put this fountain pump in my bird bath. In the winter, I got an intermittent fountain with the water going up about 2 inches. Now that it is summer with full sun, the water is spouting steady at 1-2 feet. This fountain is very nice to aerate the water and provide some interest. It does only work during the day when it has sunlight. It does need to be cleaned regularly. I now clean it every time I clean the birdbath to prevent algae and mineral build up. The three different heads are nice, and can be used to fit the desired look for the spray.

Love this addition to my bird bath. I know it says it will only work in direct sunlight and not any shade, but my little gadget works even in shade if it's a sunny day. Of course, the highest stream of water is in direct sunlight. I waited a week to write this review to make sure I didn't get a malfunction, but it's still going strong. I do have some tips if you're interested. The suction cups won't stick to the bottom of a smooth birdbath, not even the big one they supplied held the gadget in place. So I got 3 small rocks out of my garden to weigh it down and it works perfectly and gives the feel of a little pond birdbath . Just make sure not to put the rocks directly on top because it blocks the solar panels from sun and it won't work at all, just tilt the rocks up against the sides of the gadget. The birds took a minute to get used to the water shooting up but now they're drinking like champions Pics attached of the water flow and the rocks inside.
