   I bought this for our pool (first one we've had) as I hate to have any critters meet their demise. We aren't at that house as much so I'm not able to check the skimmer every morning to make sure that it's empty. It was super easy to put together and place. I have ours closer to the skimmer so that as any animal is being pulled towards it, it should be able to stop them from going in. I was so excited to see a toad actually use it the other night! It swam right to it and hopped on. I was surprised that our pool installer had never seen one before. We have a pretty small pool so I don't think I'll need a second one but will consider it this summer if we have to. So glad I bought this!

   I have had a Frog Log for over 6 years now. It has worked great for me and the wildlife. Before buying it I would find roughly two or three lizards or frogs dead in the skimmer per week. Now it's more like two or three a year! I keep it next to the skimmer so the critters encounter it before the skimmer in the direction of the main water flow. It can get moldy but I have occasionally used a non-chlorine mold treatment spray and a scrub brush on the parts that stay in the water. The fabric has been durable through all those years sitting in the sun all day. Note that I also purchased a Critter Skimmer at the same time, which has probably helped the effectiveness, but it seems easier for critters to save themselves before they are pulled into the skimmer rather than after.

   We live in the country where small critters abound so I bought these a month or so ago in an effort to avoid at least some carnage. My whole family teased me for it because they thought these were a silly gimmick. I mean, are they necessary? Probably not. You could leave any floatation device in the water as a "rescue" device. What I like about these is they can be specifically placed (just outside skimmers at our place) and won't float around the pool. Do they save every frog and toad that makes its way into your water? No. Do they save half? That's debatable. All I know is that they save SOME. We pull frogs out of our skimmer baskets every single day. There's no way of knowing how many these little devices save, but I do have proof that they save SOME and that's better than none. 😎

   This is our 3rd summer using Frog Logs. We have 1 on each side of the pool and have had ZERO casualties since we started using them, which is truly amazing. Now we can enjoy our pool without feeling the guilt associated with the loss of life we experienced in then past. They are easy to put together and inflate, and hold up extremely well. During this season's drought, we've had (seemingly) 1 intrepid squirrel who likes to balance himself on the pad to have a drink from the pool - addded bonus!

   This is quite possibly the best money I've spent on my pool EVER. We used to get SO many frogs, chipmunks and mice - almost every day we'd find something dead in the filter or a frog swimming on the bottom of the pool. My husband and I both DREADED checking the filter because of it. I got this hoping it would cut down on the number of dead critters and since I put it in over a month ago we haven't had even ONE animal!!! I have no way to prove animals are using it to get out but compared to previous summers I cannot believe the improvement and cannot recommend this enough!

   Thank you for inventing this wonderful product, we have used it every summer since we moved into this house nine years ago. Frogs and toads that jump into our pool easily get out. We also, put floating styrofoam in our skimmers in case an animal gets washed into our skimmers. I check every morning and mostly I'm saving spiders and bugs but I, also, have found a tree frog, salamanders, a shrew, a mouse, toads and frogs which can safely wait on the styrofoam until I check in the morning and can release them. We love animals and this is a great product everyone with a pool should own.

After a couple years or so, they became grungy so we decided to get some new ones - went with a cheaper company. MISTAKE! Lasted less than one season - all pads faded and then ripped before the end of one year. Bought 2 more of these pads and they are going strong.    I have had zero pool deaths for the first time in 17 years. It is hard to know whether these work or not, but this result is suggestive of the product working as advertised. I believe they will last another season in spite of our scortching sun. I filled mine with small rocks in a plastic bag. The netting seems to trap small leaves on the surface but they wash off fairly easily and the flotation device can also be deflated and removed to wash out any debri that gets under the netting. I would recommend. I only bought two for a 13 x 75 lap pool even though the recommendation was for more.
