   I have a lot of bicycling adventures I'm on going on this summer and I needed to replace my old one (because it somehow disappeared). The photo on Amazon makes it seem like the front is a solid white, but it actually isn't. There is a nice, light floral pattern on it. I tried to capture it in one of the photos I attached. The helmet fit me well, It does have an adjustment at the back so you can adjust the fit just right. The foam pieces inside are comfortable and removable which makes it easier for cleaning. After adjusting the chin strap, the excess strap was very long, so I just trimmed it. That was the only issue I had with it so far. It gets the job done, looks great, and was a great price.

   This is my third Schwinn Thrasher helmet, and I’m definitely a fan. I was wearing my first one, the basic black model, when I unwisely decided to bike down a poorly-lit street and hit a fallen tree branch that I didn’t see until I was lying on the ground next to it. Afterwards, I discovered that my helmet was in two pieces, but my head was not. I’m pretty sure I landed on my forehead, but I didn’t even have a bruise on my head, let alone a concussion or skull fracture. (I did have assorted other injuries, but as the little instruction booklet that comes with the helmet explains, a bike helmet cannot protect any part of the body that it doesn’t cover. I’d like to thank Schwinn’s legal department for clearing that up.)

   Luckily I wore this helmet during my last ride. I was on a descent on a mountain, and could not brake enough to handle a hairpin turn. Still traveling at about 20mph, I fell off my bike to avoid slamming into a stand of trees that had pointy branches sticking outwards, and I fell right onto the tarmac. My head escaped from that fall totally unscathed.

   Our 5 and 7 year old each have one of these helmets - one in purple and one in blue. The helmets fit great and are comfortable. Love the back adjustment that will grow with them so we can get more use out of the helmets. The chin strap is tightened as far as it will go in order to fit the five year old, and it does just barely get small enough - that was expected since the suggested age is 8+. Love the colors on both helmets. So nice to find something that fits, is safe, and that doesn't have characters on it. Great buy!

   After having taken a hiatus on biking, I decided to get back into it. I had a previous helmet where the padding started to separate so it was time to get a new one. One thing that I noticed is that bike helmets widely range in price from a few dollars to many hundreds. I couldn't justify spending a lot of money, but I also didn't want to skimp on a no name brand because lets face it, I'd like to survive a bike crash. At any rate, many of the other reviewers gave their account of bad accidents in which this helmet saved their lives. That was a huge selling point for me.

   I wrecked while wearing this, and smacked my head hard on the pavement. The helmet took the hit and I kept riding. Easily could have had a concussion, serious road rash on my face, and maybe a cracked skull. Instead I just had a little headache. So it did its job well.
