   First the plastic over the flashlight cracked. I wrote the company and they sent me the small piece of plastic as a replacement. Then the light stopped working. Today the cord would no longer retract. It was all the way out and that’s how it stayed. Not durable enough for a constantly used dog care item. Won’t buy a replacement of the same item.

If I could have one thing on this retractable leash that most do not have so it is not just yours. It would be nice to have about 1 ft of the leash at the end be made out of strong twisted metal - hard to explain. It would help me because my dog will reach around and grab the part of the leash that is attached to his collar and starts to chew on it. I am very happy with your basic guarantee. I definitely think that is great and I would never ask for a replacement if the problem was my dog and not the product. I have always respected honesty and truth.

   Our retractable leash recently hit the dust. I am so glad I purchased this one to replace it. It came in nice packaging. It is easy to lock and unlock. It slides out and retracts well... I love that it came with a little collapsible bowl. There has been more than one occasion when we’ve been out that my fur baby needs a drink and I’m trying to make a bowl with my hands. No more! The bowl is now attached to my leash so we always have it with us. I love that the handy clip makes it easy to attach the bowls to different things, but I chose to attach it to the leash so we always have it with us.

   I was a little worried about the size of this as the picture makes it look fairly smallish... but I was pleased to find out that for my average sized hands, it fits just right. If it was a half inch more in the grip, it'd be even better, but it's not worth complaining about. It locks easily, unlocks just as easily and looks nice. I've had a few neighbors ask about it as it's kinda stylish but not overwhelming either. The leash itself is the same from start to finish and doesn't look nice for only the first few inches before changing to something else. It remains a nice sturdy leash throughout.

   The opening for the handle grip is on the smaller side, so it is easier for this lady to control. The product lasted a looong time, too. I ordered one that immediately snagged and shredded. The manufacturer was quick to respond and immediately shipped a replacement. The replacement lasted longer than advertised. I will say it matters what you put on your hands. For instance, I use a lot of sunscreen in the summer (FL), applying just before leaving the house sometimes. The residue eventually broke the silicon grip down and it came loose.

   I pulled this out of the package and thought it felt way too lightweight to be sturdy enough for my 60+-lb pit bull, but it has worked great. He is still learning and pulls a lot, so I've really tested out the durability by yanking sharply back at him (including when the leash is at the end of the reel) and it hasn't had any issue staying sturdy. Locking is very easy. It does very well staying untangled when reeling back into the leash housing. My only gripe is that it can be hard to UNlock (better than the other way around) - it seems like if I lock it, and then there is still tension from him pulling, it won't unlock. So I have to kind of awkwardly quickly stick my arm out to release the tension while also unlocking. If there's no tension, it unlocks fine.

   I bought two of these about 3 years ago. One stopped retracting after 2 years so I contacted the seller through amazon seller messages. They mailed a new one (the new blue one) and that one lasted a year. I emailed them letting them know the nylon thread broke and retracted into the handle. Received an email within 24 hours and will receive new leash within 3 days of original email. I’m lucky my dogs aren’t runners. I ended up tying what was left of the leash to the other one to get them home safely. I have a 25 pound jack Russell mix and a 40 Pound lab mix. Neither pull and are very obedient, especially on the leash. I use these leashes to run with them, hike, and do beach walks. I have been fortunate to not have had the bad experience with warranty that others are claiming. As long as they honor their warranty, I will continue to use this product.
