At about $7 per bottle though, it was costing me more to buy it that way rather than brewing my own hot coffee and adding ice. It wasn't until I was perusing YouTube and saw one of my favorite YT'ers pouring her own cold-brew out of a refrigerated container. I immediately toggled to Amazon in a search for one similar and I found this product. I have been using this cold brew coffee maker for 6 weeks now and am very satisfied. It is fairly high quality but you do need to be careful with the filter basket as you screw/unscrew it from the lid. The filter material is somewhat fragile but isn’t an issue as long as you grasp it by the plastic frame. The lid design is great as the large gasket prevents any leakage, which is important as you need to “agitate” the water by inverting the pitcher. I do this a couple of times during the 24-36 hours brewing process. It is very easy to clean, which I do every time prior to making a new batch of coffee, with warm sudsy water. Makes a good tasting ice coffee!

Not going to lie, I was pretty upset when this item arrived because I viewed it as 4 different overly-priced plastic pieces. I ordered the 2L size, not because I have multiple people drinking coffee with me, but because I drink 12 to 16 ounces of cold brew every morning. It’s pretty efficient at keeping up with my cold brew intake. After a couple weeks of using this pitcher, I realized it was not the plastic that you are paying for with this item. You’re paying for the design. It’s very sleek and cool-looking in your fridge, yes, but in addition it keeps the coffee grinds out of your brew completely and making the most delicious cold brew I’ve ever had. Before the quarantine, I would purchase a cold brew from Starbucks every morning. Now I enjoy my own cold brew more than Starbucks cold brew. I have full control of the strength and flavor, I can even get creative and combine different coffee grounds to make my own brew. My only complaint is the filter piece is difficult to clean. I have tiny hands and cannot reach down in there with normal hand-washing methods. The other plastic pieces are pretty easy to clean, I can even fit my entire arm into the pitcher section to clean it with a soft sponge. After purchasing a baby-bottle brush I am now able to clean every nook and cranny of the filter, so I have no more complaints other than that I had to spend more money on a specialty cleaning brush to clean the filter.

Purchased my 1st Takeya Deluxe Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker (1-Quart model) early in 2018 and it is still going strong with my year-round use of it. Hardly an iced coffee snob - I didn't know what to expect but the price was right and I gave it a try. Blown away by the smooth taste, ease of use and easy clean-up. I have subsequently purchased 2 more of these units as gifts over the past 2 years. After some experimentation, this is how I use this product: I alternate using either Green Mountain Cold Brew Alpine Roast Coffee Packs or Dunkin' Donuts Smooth & Rich Cold Brew Coffee Packs. Both products contain 4 mesh bags of coffee grounds and both recommend using 2 mesh bags to brew 48 oz of cold-brewed coffee. I use one mesh bag per quart (33.3 fluid oz) of cold-brewed coffee I am making - carefully putting the self-contained mesh bag into the strainer & filling the container with cold water. I chose to let it steep in the refrigerator for 24-hours before using it. I then carefully remove the mesh bag from the strainer for disposal and hand-wash the unit (even though it is top-rack dishwasher safe).

This coffee maker is my BEST FRIEND! I use this everyday, it's so easy to use! My coffee comes out perfect every time. I'm a cold coffee drinker and I put about 8-10 scoops of freshly ground coffee into the filter. I let it sit overnight and the next morning, I remove the filter and dump the grounds. It makes 4 days worth of coffee and I love that it's ready to go for me, especially since I wake up at 4:50 am and I need to make my coffee quickly! It's very easy to clean as well. Make sure to remove the rubber linings inside the caps so that you can clean in the crevices. I would recommend rinsing the filter thoroughly as soon as you remove the coffee grounds. If you don't, the gentle filter will begin to "stain" and be hard to wash by hand. If that happens, just throw it in the dishwasher and it comes out good as new!

The instructions are confusing on the coffee to water ratio. Most of the instructions seemed to apply to the 1 qt, but I just searched online what a good ratio is and I’ve found that 1 cup of ground coffee (16 tbsp) is perfect for the amount of water that I can fit in the 2 qt container. When I put the pitcher in the fridge sideways to give the grounds more surface area, it leaked a good bit by the time I checked on it again so I suggest setting it right side up and giving it a good shake whenever you go in the fridge. After about a day, I get a pretty decent cup of cold brew, but I usually leave it in longer than 24 hours and by the time I get half way down the pitcher, I start adding more water since it gets really strong which I like because I know it’s doing it’s job!

I have been drinking caffeinated beverages everyday for half my life. Usually brewing hot then cooling it down with ice which was quite a process to do every morning. Then I came across this cold brew pitcher and thought I'd give it a try. It's great, easy to use and clean, very convenient, lasts for a couple weeks, I love it! Making a pitcher of coffee take less time than a normal brewer and makes enough for at least one cup a day for about a week, depending on how much coffee concentrate is used. I Haven't used my normal coffee or espresso machine since I got this cold brew system. The coffee seems to taste better as well, not a huge difference but it's somewhat noticeable.
