So far I have only taken it on short treks, so I'm not sure how it would be on long hauls. I am a fairly fit female at about 5'9". I didn't have any problems adjusting this to my body. I think the most important thing is packing your stuff so heavy is on the bottom and situated evenly on your hips. I love the extra perks, like the whistle on the front straps and the top that can double as a small day hiking pack.
