Instructions for Use:

Taking a Compass Bearing:

1. Open the compass, ensuring the cover forms a 90-degree angle and the lens bracket a 30-degree angle to the case. Confirm the dial moves freely.
2. Insert your thumb into the thumb loop.
3. Hold the compass with your thumb and bent index finger.
4. Raise the compass to eye level.
5. Align a distant object with the sight wire and the center of the sighting groove.
6. Read the course bearing (azimuth) without moving your head or the compass.

Setting a Course:

1. Open the compass fully.
2. Place it on a level map with the azimuth directly under the index line.
3. Hold the compass steady and rotate the bezel until the luminous indicator aligns with the north “N” arrow.

Following a Course:
