My dogs don't mind wearing this dog chain as they think it's just another collar. I have a 6yo chihuahua that I do have to put it all the way to the first clasp and a 6 month lab mix that I didn't have to put all the way to the last clasp but kind of close. It is plastic so I wouldn't recommend using this with an actual leash as it could break if the dog pulls away. Will definitely work for Halloween or just to put on them for a good laugh. Doesn't pull their fur or bother them if it is worn for a few hours. With the puppy we don't allow her to wear it for long, when she scratches, she attempts to hook her paw on it and tries to rip it off. Other than that, the chain will stay on our dogs.
