I was skeptical about a nonmetal (heavy plastic like) mat being able to do what it says, but I'm sold now. I've used it half dozen times and it makes the perfect non-scorched burgers by completely eliminating flame-up from draining grease. I can put my burgers on, set a timer for 8 minutes, come back, flip them for another 6-7 minutes and have perfect juicy burgers. It actually holds the grease around the burger as it grills keeping the burger juicy. I don't care about grill marks, but somehow it makes these too. Cleanup is a breeze, wipe off the excess grease, throw them in the sink or dishwasher, wash them with a sponge and soap and you're done. No more scrubbing the grill with a wire brush and it also protects the gas "deflector shields" from dripping grease that makes them rust out guicker.

Such a pleasure not to have food falling through the grill.The mats heated up instantly, don't touch after placing on grill. My burgers cooked without burning, my chicken breasts were nice and juicy, and I received compliments on both. I'm delighted with my KONA mats. This came as a 2-pack that I gave my husband for Christmas, but here it is August and we're still reusing the 1st one! We have a Traeger Grill, which we love, but hate to clean. I keep paper towels by grill and sop up any extra grease so it doesn't get on the grill rack as suggested by Kona manufacturer. We've had cheaper ones before, so I'm amazed at the quality of these! My husband has put a couple slits in it from cutting into steaks to check while on the grill, which worried me, but it hasn't got worse or frayed or anything! It's only a 'blemish' to appearance, although I do NOT recommend it! Amazingly sturdy! After it cools, I just wash it in sink, wipe it dry, and roll it to store til the next time so it's like always having a clean grill!

I have used them for Halibut, sirloin steak and ground beef. I preheat the grill with the mats in place and in every case so far the meat or fish comes out as good or better than without them plus the grill is clean. They are easy to clean once they col off. I am glad I bought them and intend to purchase more for my other home. I have recommended them to friends and relatives. Sear lines still show on meat which I find amazing.

Wish I would have bought this a long time ago. First, I have a small outdoor pizza oven with a 13" stone platter. It was always a challenge to transfer the pizza to the stone without something going wrong or making a big mess. I took one of these mats and cut it to fit the stone. I make the pizza on the mat and then slide the pizza and mat together onto the hot stone. After the crust has cooked for a couple of minutes, I can then easily slide the mat out from under the pizza with the aid of a spatula to get the full stone cooking experience. This has made the whole process SO much easier.

I am in shock at how much I love this mat! There's zero grill clean up when you're finished. I've read the reviews where people claim it doesn't give the smoky flavor from their GAS grill. . If you want a smoky flavor just toss in some wood chips, otherwise gas isn't going to give you that with or without this mat. And I've read the reviews talking about this being the same as pan frying a steak. That's an easy fix. I use the mat to grill my steak 3/4 of the way, then when it has that nice shiny sheen from the fat that has come to the surface, I move it to the open grate. This cooks the fat around the edges and gives the steak a nice crisp layer. And it doesn't stick to the grill because it's not raw meat! 30 seconds on both sides and it comes off the grill so easily you can just wipe your grill of with a cloth when it cools down, and all the mess is on the mat which cleans like a dream in your sink. Grilling has NEVER been this easy!
