The topper is not regulation size (about a foot shorter) so I wanted to make a 1-foot extension that I could place in the middle and have the two halves plug into the extension. There are three dowels so I needed to drill holes in the extension that matched the two halves perfectly. This tool made it so easy to get the holes aligned and drilled to the correct depth.

The only drawback is that it doesn't clamp in place to drill the holes, but as soon as the bit hit the wood it doesn't matter.
