   This was my first metal detector and I used it to find shingles nails left in the yard after they peeled off my shingles. I found 192 by eye and by the magnet at the top of the column. After I bought a metal detector, I found another one. It did the job. I'm not trying to distinguish between metals but it also finds lead, aluminum and non-magnetic metals.

At first I thought the detector was beeping because it was misplaced or was picking up unrelated signals. I quickly discovered that if it beeps there is a piece of metal. I didn't have a false signal. I found no luck but I enjoyed spending the afternoon looking for old nails or pieces of horseshoes. great product

   You can simply dig a large lump as long as you are allowed to, then beep for the hole, beeping for the pile of dirt placed further away from the hole to narrow the position. I've found string-thin items to do this, don't be discouraged, it's an art form and technique that requires patience and some know-how after all. With more use, you'll be faster at locating items.
