It has a nice weight to it but it is still comfortable to hold and write with it. Lines are consistent and even. The color of the pen is vibrant and I have had many compliments about it at work. This is the first fountain pen I have owned and actually tried to use. I wanted one that looked nice but didn’t break my budget. For the money you spend on this guy you get more out of it than I thought I would. I writes wonderfully I haven’t had it explode and it’s easy to install a new ink cartridge. The only thing about it is the converter it comes with is awe full, or at least mine was. It let air in the back end and would hold ink properly but I had some disposable cartridges lying around and once I put one of those in it worked like a dream. I’ve been told it does work with other converters however I have not purchased others and am instead buying the cartridges from Jinhao themselves for the pen.

I think this is a really nice fountain pen for the price, and a great value. It has a very nice solid weight and feel to it. You might experiment using different inks and papers, and see what works best for you. I use Quink black ink, and it always seems to start writing right away, even without using it for a few days. As an introduction to fountain-penmanship, it is a great start and I recommend it highly. If there is one little problem, it would be that when you take the cap off, it does not fit nicely on the other end of the pen, as you would rather expect it too. But its great value far exceeds this small problem.
