The incense can be messy once burned, but the secret is to try and turn it completely upside down so that the hole doesn't get/ stay clogged. If it spills its messy. I love the variety in the incense that come with it. I actually bought (2), and I opted to buy the newly used/opened pkg and saved $7 each. The box was damaged but it's well bubble-wrapped, and there was no damage to the product at all. I give it 5-stars. Perfect for home & office use.
