For glucose and uric acid, the test takes 20 seconds, and for cholesterol, it takes 60 seconds The calibration curve is selected automatically based on the code.

But when comparing to other meters and the money they cost, and the strips being so much higher, I decided to go this route. If there are doubts about a certain level I simply retest. I haven't encountered any problems with this unit or the one prior (until it went swimming). lol. I had no idea these even existed for home use! Just like a blood sugar tester, easy. This comes with the button battery, test strips, lancet, zippered case. It is easy to set up and quick. You can monitor your levels yourself at home. No doctor visit, no copays, no lab work. My family must have some type of defective gene as this runs high on one side going back at least 4 generations. This could turn into gout or kidney stones, so I think it is a good idea to at least monitor it. By doing that, you can modify your diet, exercise, and take some uric acid supplements to prevent it from going higher and causing other painful problems. My levels are within the normal range so that's a relief! I took advantage of this seller's sale where the more you buy, the more you save which made this deal incredible so a few family members will be getting their own meters and test strips too.
