How I use mine, I attached a plastic garden hose female bib to the end of the siphon hose and attached it to a garden hose. With the other end of the garden hose still attached to the faucet, I open the faucet which starts putting water into the tank. Then without turning off the water, I unscrew the water hose which creates a suction in the siphon.
