The filter mesh and filter mouth come out so it is easy to clean. Inside the pot, not so much. To avoid having to clean it often, DO NOT boil the water with the strainer full. I take out the strainer, boil the water, then when it turns off, I put it back in. This prevents residue from sticking to the kettle.

I haven't tested the accuracy of the water temperature, but based on the size of the bubbles when boiling (or near boiling) it seems pretty accurate. Keep a good amount of water, I think if I remember correctly. Plus, it heats up very quickly and turns off automatically when it reaches temperature.
