I like that the pieces are a little bit bigger so small kids can assemble and disassemble with ease. The pieces are compatible with other name brand blocks as well. These pieces fit perfectly with our lego duplo which meant that we were able to expand this set with pieces we have from our lego sets(like a propeller for the ball to hit or building a tunnel for the balls to pass through, etc). The criticisms people have left in lower star reviews are not that big of a deal. Yes the balls snap together and are somewhat lightly weighted. Yes, the instructions are a bit confusing. Yes, the pieces are weighted slightly differently than lego brand pieces. Yes, the base plate for this set was a little warped(we ended up using our own lego brand plate to build on). But ultimately it works well and is easily expandable.
