Also there is way too much excess netting that hangs at the top between the two ropes that hold the netting up but may change my mind on that in the future if I ever have to repair holes in the net as I will have excess material to sew

The heavy duty strapping system reassures me that this hammock will stay where we put it. The netting with a hammock is a must when camping in the Adirondack mountains.
