For the money you spend it is well worth it. I had one got 20 feet down to the bottom of a lake for 30 minuets and brought it back up and to my amazement it had no water in it and no problems! Highly recommend these reels, I'd stick to the reel sizes in the middle so you can hold enough lime without having a massive reel on your rod.

I have used these reels on my fishing charter in the Gulf of Alaska for 4 years now. I own 11 of them. I use the 30 series for Salmon and the 40 series for Halibut. When you have a 30+ pound saltwater King Salmon or a 100+ pound Halibut on the end of your line, you NEED a great reel! I've had reels that cost 3 times what these do that don't perform well and don't hold up over time. The saltwater environment we subject our equipment to is brutal. These reels get a steady dose of big fish and saltwater all day, rinse of fresh water at night and a couple drops of oil twice a year. But they last. I have only had to replace two over the years. Not from failure, but from clients that just can't seem to hold onto a pole when there is a big fish on the other end. Very sad to see pole, reel and fish get away. Mostly the fish. But that's the life of a charter captain! Anyway, great reels at a fair price. Highly recommend!
