I bought this to cut bones, for example chicken with bones, beef with bones, etc. I've had regular knives, all very sharp, but when cutting bones they just don't get through. This knife is thick, heavy, has a full thang, it's very, very nice. Today I was going to use my regular knife to cut chicken with bones and I thought, I just bought this cleaver, I brought it out, cut the chicken with bones with One hit per cut. So I'm done in less than a minute, and I'm not even a strong guy at that.

If you are looking for a butcher knife that has the weight to chop through some tough stuff, this is it. It is also sharp out of the box (if you look in the video) I am slicing through tomatoes very easily. This is very well built and the metal is a thick 1/8” so it will last a lifetime. I would not buy this if you have small hands, weak in the arms, or have no grip. You should also have a large cutting board. Mine is 20”x20”. I looks like something straight out of a horror movie

This thing is heavy. It is not for light chopping of vegetables. This thing is made to bust through bone like a knife through butter. This is not for the faint of heart. This meat cleaver means business. I divided and chopped a big ass chicken in under a minute and I'm a novice. Highly recommend. Quality product.

   huge value for money. durable, thick steel, full tang, holds good edge. get one for the kitchen and one for camping. wrap the wood handle with paracord or leather strap for even better grip. i like the nice 6" long handle it gives excellent control of the blade even when hands are wet or greasy. most of these large cleavers have pathetic tiny handles which IMO is an accident waiting to happen. The box it comes in is good for storing it in a drawer or pack bag, but for regular outdoor / travel use I would recommend making a kydex sheath.

   WOW! Now this is a cleaver you need for home butchering. We recently home-processed two pigs (due to COVID nonsense the local butchers closed and then were backed up for over a year). This cleaver makes the job fairly easy. My husband is 6’4” and has huge hands. He loves this cleaver. It fits his hand very well and knocks right through bones. I’m only 5’3” and my hands are much smaller. I wear out quickly with monster of a cleaver. But my husband’s height and wingspan makes this cleaver the perfect tool for him.
