I bought one for my sisters because she not only has arthritis in her wrists, she also has carpal tunnel. She loves this opener. It has made things a lot easier for her. And me too!

   This is a great product. It takes some getting used to but does the job. This is the second one I have bought. The first was for my 89 year old mother because she was having issues opening jars. She loves it and it works on most popular sizes from a jar of pickles to a soda bottle top. I just bought the second one for my sister who was very impressed with it. I don't think you can go wrong with this. Much better than the old manual type.

   It came in a clear plastic bag with no batteries and no instructions. I found some batteries around the house, inserted and then had several minutes of trial and error to figure out how it works. Once on the jar, it worked perfectly. I had tried opening this particular jar by hand and by a handheld jar gripper to no avail before. Since it is mostly plastic, I hope it holds up and lasts for a while.

   Being an older individual I find it harder for me to open sealed jars. I had a friend who purchased one of these items for me and I was amazed at how much easier it made my life. Any item that allows one to function easily without assistance is highly desired especially for one who desires to remain independent for as long as possible.
   
   A friend of mine purchased one of these jar openers for me as I am getting older and was having a hard time opening sealed jars. I am extremely pleased and happy to recommend this to anyone, especially one who is getting older and who desires to remain independent as long as possible with a good quality of life.    After multiple arm and wrist fractures, a ruptured tendon, and 2 surgeries, I have little use of my left hand and no use of the thumb for an extended recovery period, making it impossible to grasp a jar to open the lid. I was shopping Amazon for a better can opener and saw the RoboTwist. It's a lifesaver. It works! It's slow and a bit noisy, but it gets items open every time, with no spills. I've used it for a variety of items. Most helpful to me is opening Ensure bottles, which I'm drinking as a protein supplement to promote healing; those lids are 1.5 inches in diameter. Read the instructions--hold the button down while the outer claws tighten and until the inner claws start to move; then release the button. I keep my hand lightly on the body of the Robo during the opening and until the claws retract enough to remove it. I do not touch the jar/bottle at all during the opening process; it just sits on the counter. I have used the product daily for 3 weeks.
