   You can kill dandelions with pesticide, but failing that, you have dig them out root and all. This does a great job ripping them up, root and all. I drag along a bag or small trash can and pop the handle to drop the offending weed and its root into the bag/can for disposal so it doesn't just go to seed and thwart me anyway. Unless you are tall, I am not, this works wonderfully and saves getting down on the ground and digging in the dirt to rip up dandelions root and all.

   Before by the uproot weed remover I was using a hand held one and I didn’t like bending over every few inches to get a new weed. With this one I don’t have to bend over which saves the back! Majority of the time I can get the weed into the bucket with one flow of the tool and no bending over!

   This tool is awesome! I use it for larger, difficult weeds such as crabgrass and dandelions. Its important to center the tool over the root. For big weeds, use your foot to push the tool in deeply to get the roots, but doing so does leave a divot around 3/4 inch wide and an in or two deep. For smaller weeds it is sufficient to push the tool in gently, twist, and pull, leaving a much smaller divot. My first time using it I removed a huge number of weeds quickly, cleanly, and with minimal effort. I'm buying another tool for my daughter! I really like it.

   I really love this tool. My husband always did the gardening, but I lost him a year ago, and I had no clue what to do. After hiring a “landscaper” and being overcharged and still left with 100s of weeds. He said he had used a weed killer, however the 5’ to 7’ tall weeds told a different story. After asking him if he used “Miracle Grow”, I decided to try to find a tool to help me. I am so happy that I picked this weeder. It is really well made and I have no fear of falling when using this product. But the best part is I am getting these weeds out without any help. There were many huge weeds left by my “landscaper” and one ginormous weed. It was up against and under a wood retaining wall and each time I thought I had gotten it out, there was another limb to get. It took me almost two hours and after 5 long limbs (each the size of zucchinis!) I finally got it out. After all of that, I was still standing, however, the giant weed was not!

   I must say I am impressed with how easy this is to use and how good it is at getting the whole root. I did find that it works perfectly on one weed. When you get a cluster of weed in one group, it takes finesse to target the center to insure you pull out the root. You would have the same issue with whatever device you use. The item is made extremely sturdy and should last a long time. Well worth the money!
