   Have tried several inexpensive sharpeners for basic kitchen knife set. One always gives me a problem. It is a Gerber 12" with a hard but flexible blade. Have run it thru several brands and feel is sliding rather than cutting while being pulled the sharpeners. I could tell immediately when I pulled out the old Gerber and thought, here we go again, not going to happen! Ran thru opening #1 and felt it reshaping the blade. Then slot 2 and finally slot 3. I could feel the sharpener cutting on each stroke and noticed the metal shavings collecting. At the end, rinsed off the Gerber and it was nice and sharp for the first time! Sharpened 6 more knives in 5 minutes. Some are straight blades and others with upward bend at tip. The 3 step sharpened each better than any others tried in the past. I did 6 level and light strokes thru each of the 3 steps with ease. Now that my knives are conditioned into shape, it is just a matter of running 5-6 strokes thru the fine slot for maintaining or resharpening. I slice a lot of tomatoes and a dulling knife will show right away. Buying 2nd one for safe keeps

   This knife sharpener has multi uses. It can work for damaged blades, sharpening, and other fine tuning needed to properly care for your knives. Initially I was hesitant, as I have a $400 knife set. I’m glad I made the purchase. Gentle, yet effective sharpening without damage to your investment. It came with a protective clove to use while sharpening. This ergonomic set was designed with safety and ease in mind. Very durable and not flimsy so you can safely care for your knives. The center piece comes out for cleaning and replacement when needed. Great purchase!

   Great sharpener! I have a collection of kitchen knives, most of which languished in a drawer over the years. I set to work on them when this sharpener arrived and once I got the hang of it, all my knives are sharp and in use again. For me, it's the edge and the weight of the blade, so I now know which knives works best on vegetables and meats, and it's so easy to sharpen up a knife for fine dicing or paper thin slicing. Love it.

   This sharpener was built better and made to be used with safety in mind. The included protective glove for your 'stationary' hand was unexpected (i had not noticed that it was included) and i'm grateful to have it, Thank you! it is a sturdy, well built unit and is quite easy to use. the instructions are well written and easy to understand. and seeing as how it was in a nice sturdy box, it would be easy to wrap and give as a gift to virtually anyone, because just about anybody could use this with no experience required!

   Easy to use, comes with cut protective glove which I wasn't sure was included, this is not just a knife sharperner, it also fixes the cutting edge of the knife, it works for porcelain knives as well, the anti slip base works wonderfully, I highly recommend it.

   I'm not a big cook so I'm not a connoisseur of fine knife sharpeners, but for someone like me, this worked well and has been useful. It was a decent value for the price. I've used it several times and it sharpens well. It has the 3 slots going progressively from coarse to finer to the fine ceramic one at the end. The included safety glove is a nice touch. I don't know if it would keep you from severing a finger, but it would at least remind you to be careful.

   This works great! Have already sharpened several kitchen knives and this has brought them back to life! Made them sharp again and has made my life easier cutting food! Love that they also provide the cut resistant glove and we did a test and it will not get through the fabric, which is super cool! The handle design also makes it really comfy to use and hold. Highly recommend!

   I inherited a pretty decent knife set when I bought my new place. Which was awesome, because I didn't have any knives! Woo hoo!! Problem was, they were pretty dull. After reading reviews, I figured I would try this product out and give it a whirl. I especially like that it comes with a glove to help protect yourself, because well, to be quite honest, I am accident prone and knife accidents have happened a few times with me lol. Oopsies. Anyway, I got this in the mail, and immediately sharpened all of my chopping knives, going through all 3 steps on the sharpener. WOW!!!! My knives are WAY sharper. Which is almost a catch 22 for accident prone me HA but no, chopping stuff has gotten a ton easier. This sharpener works really great, and I think you get a great product for the price. The glove is just a bonus! Highly recommend it!

   For an average dunderhead like me, this is perfect for what I need. I worked as a cook in a prime rib restaurant back in the last century, and spent hours and hours hand sharpening my blades on a stone. These days, I find I don’t have the time and space for that. But I like sharp blades. This is an inexpensive but effective solution. It is excellent in my kitchen and also my RV. It works quite well for my needs. We’ll see how it performs over time, but I figure long life is just a bonus. Like the bonus glove they put in there for the rookies. Haha.

   This is the second one of these we've owned. We received the first one as a gift. It is simple and easy to use. Just pull the knife through each of the slots a couple of times and presto, out comes a sharp knife. The stones on the first one finally wore out after a couple of years. We hope this one lasts at least that long.
