The main advantage for me was the much quicker refresh rate in tracking mode (15 sec for the Go Explore; I forget what it was on the older model but know it was much longer). The 20-day battery life was my other reason for trading up. Both features have worked just as advertised, and make this tracker far more useful to me. You still need to have decent cell coverage, of course, so I can’t expect it to perform well hiking up in the mountains where coverage is patchy - but everywhere else has been great.

We know just where to find him. The flashing light feature is wonderful too. It's so interesting to see where he goes and how active or lazy he is during the day. Worth the money in my opinion. The whistle brand collar didn't work because it was too big for a cat but this clips on fine to his regular collar, very secure, and doesn't seem to bother him at all. 12lb cat.

I found this and really didn't want to spend the money but after a few escapes I ponied up the dough. A couple of weekends later she bolted and I tracked her for over 3 miles. Unfortunately I have not really hammered home the training and she doesn't come to me when called. I was able to find her a couple of times but she bolted when she saw me and I couldn't keep up. I eventually went home and had to watch as she roamed for an hour. Once I saw her come out onto a nearby street I was able to go after her and catch her in a neighborhood not too far away.
