It arrived as described and had a slight neoprene smell but not a strong chemical odor (like other ones I have purchased). It went through the washing machine with no problems. The hooks and three velcro belts are a new design for me to try. I found that connecting the hooks and slipping it on like a shirt worked easiest. I like the three belts because different tension can be applied to different areas. This waist trainer was comfortable to wear under a shirt casually and great to use working out. This one you get a lot of trainer and then some for a reasonable price. It definitely covers your entire torso. I'm 6' 1" at 215lbs. I wear size 32 jeans. I ordered a medium and honestly could've gone for a small since I adjust my trainer to the closest hooks and tighten the straps as far as I can. The hooks are super solid. They can clearly handle a lot of tension. The velcro on the straps are super dependable. I always sleep with a trainer and this one doesn't slip. That velcro holds!
