I have a plastic one by a different company, and this ball is definitely better all around. It spins smoother and just feels more premium. I keep this spinner in my car and use it during my commute every day. It's definitely very effective at increasing strength in grip, wrist, forearm and biceps. Definitely worth the extra money over plastic models. The only thing I would change is to have the wind-up feature easier to hold while winding, with either some texture or rubber inserts for traction while turning with thumbs (I'm taking about on the gyroscope, part that spins) Would buy again!

I purchased the plastic polymer Black Version first. It was light and starts immediately (for me). I decided I wanted the heavier model as well to test them both out so I purchased the crush metal. At first I thought it was broken but it really does take a lot of feel when you're finding the groove of the motion. Starting out slower and feeling the centrifugal force than picking up speed until it really kicks in. I love them both. The heavier weight of the crush metal really makes a difference but both are adequately effective (rehab vs strength)(stress relief for both). Once you get the hang of it you can change the way you work out specific areas. You can isolate the top of the forearm then subsequently isolate the bottom. It just requires technique so I can understand why there are some people that are giving this negative reviews. Just don't give up on it until you get the hang of it
