I needed some sort of bike lights because I usually ride after my kids are in bed. These are great because they definitely increase visibility from the side, and I've noticed there is also a soft glow on the pavement alongside my wheels, so I suspect that they give some visibility from behind too.

This is my third set of Activ Life wheel lights. I had initially purchased them for my own bike and my oldest child's; however, our younger child really wanted them too. He has now been going out to ride his bike every evening, as he is just so proud of his lights. Many neighborhood kids have commented on how cool they look and are wanting to get some. For the older child and me, I purchased the plain blue ones (matching our blue bikes). These aren't obnoxious and do provide a good amount of light when riding at night, making it safer and easier for cars to see us. I purchased the color-changing lights for my youngest child--these rotate through various colors, changing every few seconds.

Wasn’t sure how the back tire would be do having gears and the rim being bigger...but they provide bands that will accommodate for that!! And both battery casing’s hold in place great don’t move when the bike is being rode!! Like I said I was skeptical at first...how things never look like on packages or advertising...but these are awesome and would recommend 100%!!

They were a cinch to install and my daughters were so eager to ride the neighborhood and show off their lights that I only had time to put on the front wheels. It was just after sunset and starting to get dark, and these put out a surprising amount of light. UPS was in the area doing a late delivery, and the truck easily spotted the two bikes from up the street and slowed down - and that was with just just half the lights installed. It looks great in the dark so I got it for my son and two of my nephews. the only drawback is that it is a bit of a pain to install so give yourself about 30 mins. The LEDs are on thin metal wires that you have to carefully wind around the spokes. The battery is a standard AA that sits in a black housing that mounts tightly to the axle. Its also a bit hard to wrap around but keep at it. The tires on 20" or smaller bicycles have very little space to put your hands so its harder to get on. I just got one for my son's 24" (as he outgrew the smaller bike) so will try that one soon. A cool gift for sure.

I bought these for my son and daughter's bikes and they do not disappoint. I can spot them very easily (as well as any others) and they think they are pretty cool too. The one note is they are rather a pain to put on, only because you have to wrap them around every other spoke until there is no more wire. On the upside, by the time I got to the 3rd tire (did 4 tires total) and was so over it and did a crappy job, they still looked very cool once turned on. Haven't had them long enough to comment on battery life, but it does use AAA so at least they are easy batteries to replace.

These are awesome and help with saftey. I am a commuter and they are the most noticeable lights when you are trying to get out of a parking lot on on a busy street. I get lots of compliments on these and they are so fun! I love that you can't see them much in the daytime also. Give yourself plenty of time to install them, you want to do it right or they look messy and don't last as long because the bulbs break. The best way to install is to get them as close as possible to the edge and loop around each spoke once or every other spoke. I used a bit of scotch tape also to help keep the wire in place in some areas. You can see in my sunset photo I did it the lazy quick way and they are still cool but not as good.
